Apparently they still make this. Last time I had one was during the Clinton administration, I think.
Not bad.

Always liked RC, kind of a slight wintergreen hint to it.

RC Cola and a moon pie is a southern thing I think.

Should save it for 6months (and change) from now.

I was at Dragoncon waiting on a friend to drive up with her gear. A dude unloaded a case of Vernors. I hadn’t seen Vernors in a decade. I went over to offer to buy one, he laughed and handed me a can...which I guarded with my damn life.
My friend pulled up and didn’t understand the soda. But I chilled it and it tasted like heaven.

RC is the official cola of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ arena.

I think so, although they have it here in Iowa.

You should have waited until January 2017.

I'll probably just want to drink something hard at that point...

I love RC, but I hardly ever drink regular soda anymore. They also don’t sell a diet version where I live. (Diet Rite cola is made by them, but it's an abomination.)

Do they make Well We’re Screwed Cola?

Vernors is a Ginger Ale. It is a northern thing like RC Cola is a southern thing.
But once you know the can or label...your eye is trained for it and it caught me offguard.

They make the Make Cola Great Again that tastes like rebar and steel.

RC Cola can’t melt rebar.

I like the taste of burned steel, but oxide grinding wheels I’m usually burning the steel with, not so much.

VERNORS ZOMG. I haven’t had any in ages. I need to check the local hardware store (also a boutique sodas place) and see if they have it.

Vernors on its own is garbage ale.....Yeah, I said it. As a Michigander, Vernor’s is overrated as a beverage. It is quite underrated for its shake potential with vanilla soft serve. Mmmmmmmmm, Boston Coolers in July......Tastes like Michigan. Which is to say, tastes like road construction, a quarter bag of Better Made BBQ chips, and meijer circulars littering the sidewalk.

Man, I feel the nostalgia there. I remember last drinking one of these at a tractor pull sometime around age 10.

Traditionally, yeah, but no more so than Faygo being a Michigan thing, or Tastycake being a Philly thing. They're all everywhere now. But marketers love playing up regionalism right now, it adds some panache to an otherwise milquetoast product.

I remember those. They were like 10 cents from the vending machine. Maybe a quarter, I don’t remember but they were cheap.

They never quit making it. It is readily available around here.
